Park City Utah

Park City is one of Utah’s prime tourist destinations. Ask anyone the importance of Park City and you might get varying degrees of answering. Some might reference the popular 1994 film Dumb and Dumber where the iconic duo ended their dizzingying trip in Aspen. Many of these scenes were filmed in Park City. The two major ski resorts: Deer Valley Resort and Park City Mountain are major ski locations that hosted main events for the 2002 Winter Olympics. Special focus should be placed on its very convenient bus and trolley system which allows tourists to travel the city in relative ease without having to worry about renting a car. Out of all of the ski towns I have visited, by far this is one of my favorites in terms of transportation. This totally free system is completely environmentally friendly and takes you to all of the locations that you would need for your visit.
The actual city combines a variety of different feelings and themes to compliment it’s nestled mountain location. Throughout the year you are welcome to enjoy the many shops lined up across the main street. There are several bars and lounges that are right off the slopes of Park City Mountain and Deer Valley Resort including Drafts Sports Bar & Grill and Umbrella Bar. A lot of people like the Corner Store because of the large patio that it has available to watch the incoming skiers. After a long day of skiing it’s always a treat to put your feet up (without the boots) and watch everyone else finish their runs.
On your off skiing days there is plenty to do in Park City, there are museums, galleries, historical tours, and plenty of food options. Handle is a local must try American cuisine restaurant that offers small plates of really delicious food. With a menu that changes constantly through the seasons there’s always something new to try and its offering of small plates it’s the perfect food for a light break before heading back to the slopes. I always like to get a good Pretzel & Beer Cheese whenever I visit any skiing destination and that is possible over at the High West Distillery.
If you visit Park City during Spring and Summer do not worry! There is plenty to do here and you get to see the diversity that is available throughout the seasons. Wednesday Nights at the Deer Valley Resort Amphitheater enjoy free concerts out in the beautiful weather. If you favor something more active you are always welcome to head on the Armstrong Trail which starts at the Silver Star Cafe, the trail will take you up the mountain for some gorgeous views. Remember the 2002 Winter Olympic Games in Salt Lake City?. These facilities are now available for enjoyment. It is quite remarkable seeing the transformation of these facilities. Ski jumps have changed into zip lines and bobsleds are running without any snow.
So, what are you waiting for with world class activities and a unique locale, Park City is one of the top destinations in the United States for recreational activity.
